Interview: LHW - Interludes

Lost In The Nordics
Hi LHW, how are you today? For those that haven’t heard of you yet, how would you best describe your sound, and who have been your biggest influences so far?

I make sample-based hip hop music using a stripped down and minimalist approach. I grew up listening to a lot of different music, but for my debut sound, I dove into my American east coast hip hop influences from the 90’s. I’m heavily influenced by artists from that time period. DJ Premier, J Dilla, Pete Rock, Prince Paul, The 45 King, Large Professor, Q-Tip, Buckwild, Mobb Deep, there are so many more I could name. As of recently, I’ve been influenced and inspired by a few newer artists like Tuamie, Knxwledge, and Foisey.
